We attended the Young Entrepreneurs: Business Planning and Financing seminar presented by Small Business BC. If you, or anyone you know, is interested in starting your own business, we highly recommend this seminar as the first step in the process.
This particular session consisted of three parts: Small Business BC, Canadian Youth Business Foundation (CYBF), and Vancity Community Investment program.
The Canadian Youth Business Foundation (CYBF) outlined their various programs and services, which includes mentoring programs, financing, resources, and much more. By the way, their age criteria for “youth” is up to the age of 39!
Vancity gave a presentation on their Community Investment program, which offers micro loans to small businesses.
You will also learn about the wide-ranging services and resources offered by Small Business BC (eg $40 for a 30 minute session with a lawyer!).
